New York City is known for a lot of things: its overpriced rental market, its deliciously cheap street food, the Empire State Building, and now, real-life exorcisms that take place in public… Yep, you read that right.

Five days ago, on Sunday 27 August 2023, a TikTok user by the name of CoCo Frost shared a video of what is believed to be a real-life exorcism that was taking place in front of her in Times Square. In the clip, you can see a woman surrounded by three unknown people. There’s little context provided so it’s hard to decipher how the group know this woman or if they’re simply strangers who approached her to try and help in some way.

The woman in the middle is clearly distressed, pulling wild faces and pushing back up against the wall behind her. What’s so crazy about this video is that one of the men surrounding the woman keeps shouting over and over again “leave her now!” as if he is truly trying to expel some kind of demon from within the poor woman’s body.

The woman groans and yells in discomfort and then, just as we think something might happen, the video ends. A number of comments below the video expressed the desire to find out what happened next.

A few days after the initial video was posted, Frost shared an update to the story. In her next clip, the TikTok user explains that allegedly the group in the initial video was a family who’d all travelled together to New York City for a holiday. Supposedly, one of the women began acting strangely and that’s when the family started to believe that she’d been possessed by an evil spirit.

Frost concluded her last video by stating that the woman was ultimately taken away in an ambulance and that she was unsure of what had happened following that.
