If there’s one millennial I’m going to obsess over until I take my last breath, it’s going to be Paris Hilton. A blueprint for influencers everywhere, Hilton made a name for herself outside of her family’s hotel empire. Her flagship show The Simple Life, which also starred socialite and bestie Nicole Richie, was peak comedy. I could watch those two blondes for hours.

Now, Hilton is living every little girl’s fantasy—or at least mine. Part-time DJ, part-time businesswoman, Hilton monetised the personality hire trope. You’ve gotta give the woman credit. And, as someone who eats up every morsel of Paris content I can get ahold of, I was naturally thrilled to see the now mother-of-two featured on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast.

The episode, which aired on Tuesday 5 December 2023, is aptly titled: Paris Hilton: Sex Symbol, Slut Shaming & Sliving.

Cooper is renowned for snatching impressive guests for her podcast. Hilton now sits among the likes of Jack Harlow, Janelle Monáe, Miley Cyrus, Kim Petras, and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Out of all of these people, Hilton’s episode is definitely the most entertaining. It’s nearly impossible to not find the reality TV star charismatic and, well, sliving. Her relationship with her husband Carter Reum is high-key adorable and if I see one mean comment about her sweet son Pheonix’s head, I will lose my sh*t.

If you’re a fan of diving head-first into nostalgia, this Call Her Daddy episode will definitely pique your interest. Hilton reveals what it was like being a 2000s it girl, talks in depth about her long-term friendship with Kim Kardashian, and spills the tea on a number of her romantic relationships and the public backlash she’s faced over the years.

Hilton is incredibly open about her life and how the “dumb blonde” stereotype only pushed her more towards an ambitious future. The woman is a boss, there’s no other way to describe it.

And it’s impressive how resilient Hilton is considering the overwhelming amount of scrutiny she receives from the public and the press, especially when it comes to her children.

Mothers are always unfairly criticised in the media, and Hilton’s experience has been no different. Most recently, Hilton faced a wave of mum-shaming after a clip from her current reality TV show Paris in Love showed the 42-year-old learning how to change her son’s diaper for the first time, one month after the baby was born.

A number of netizens posted in the comments sentiments such as “I feel bad for judging because I don’t know Paris. Obviously, none of us do… but like… really? You never change your baby’s diaper? What?” And “Rich people are so out of touch with reality, this is real sad.”

Others came to Hilton’s defence, expressing how, given the socialite’s childhood, this type of behaviour makes sense. Also, having a nanny does not mean that you’re a bad mother. One user wrote: “It’s probably how Paris was raised, almost totally by nannies. It’s all she knows.” Another noted: “Guys, not everyone is good at being a first-time mom. It takes time.
