You can always trust the Barbz to take over Twitter—sorry, I still refuse to call it X. When Nicki Minaj told her fans to be gagged in anticipation for the drop of Pink Friday 2, they took it to a whole new level. If you’ve spent any time online in the past 12 hours or so, you will have likely come across the AI universe known as Gag City.

What is Gag City?

The Barbz have always been a dedicated fanbase, so it’s not particularly surprising that, in response to their icon’s announcement regarding the upcoming album, they used AI to create a pink alternative universe worthy of Minaj.

Gag City is a stunning imagination, boasting pink waterfalls, mansions, skyscrapers, and an impressive collection of celebrity visitors. Only the best for our rap queen.

The hashtag #GAGCITY has undoubtedly pushed the release of Pink Friday 2 to the top of everyone’s feeds, with the album now heavily trending on the social media app. As of Thursday 7 December 2023, over 71,000 tweets have been posted using #PinkFriday2.

Naturally, Miss Minaj has gotten involved with all the giggles, sharing a couple of different memes and videos associated with Gag City.

The rapper also tweeted: “As we begin to prepare for landing, please make sure your tray tables are put back up & your seat belts are tightly fastened. The captain has activated the ‘no bathroom’ sign. If you look out the window, you’ll begin to see the beauty…clear waters, pink dolphins…#GagCity #PF2”

Spotify also got involved in the action, posting a picture captioned “calling all Barbz, a new Sound Town just dropped.”

When is ‘Pink Friday 2’ coming out?

While we don’t know the specific time that Pink Friday 2 will drop, we can confirm that the album will be released on Friday 8 December.
