The 66th annual Grammy Awards took place on Sunday 4 February 2024 and practically every celebrity under the sun showed up for the celebration—we even got to see our favourite octopus-lover Jake Shane make an appearance on the red carpet.

Now, while in an ideal world, we’d preferably focus all of our attention on the fact that Miley Cyrus won her first-ever Grammy during last night’s ceremony, the internet has instead decided to fixate on the so-called “bizarre” actions of the singer’s bodyguard.

The particular clip that seems to have everyone confused involves Cyrus walking down the red carpet surrounded by her security. One specific bodyguard is seen holding an umbrella in his left hand, with his index finger placed firmly in the middle of the object.

Netizens immediately began speculating over whether or not the umbrella was actually a concealed firearm. Some even thought that the bodyguard was wearing a fake arm due to the fact that his left arm looked slightly longer than his right at certain angles.

There were, of course, also lots of people who thought the entire notion was completely ridiculous:

Moreover, it should be mentioned that Los Angeles, where the Grammys were held, saw a lot of rain last night—potentially a clue into why Cyrus’ bodyguard was carrying an umbrella… Just saying.
