You know those really sleazy DJs who slink around Los Angeles, searching for emotionally vulnerable women, suckling on a strawberry-flavoured vape, and pretending as though a lack of hygiene is sexy? Yeah, those ones, the no-shower club boys. Well, let me introduce you to Zack Bia, the boy who notoriously tormented Madison Beer and who is the alleged “bloodsucker,” “fame fucker,” and “vampire” in Olivia Rodrigo’s latest single. And the list of why men are trash gets longer.
Now, for a quick Bia recap. The 27-year-old began his career as a club promoter, before graduating into a full-blown dance and electronic douche hosting star-studded parties and failing to pull off a series of oddly fitted knitted jumpers.

In 2018, Bia struck up a romance with singer Madison Beer. The relationship lasted for about a year and was insanely toxic and turbulent. Paparazzi frequently took snaps of the pair arguing in public and when they inevitably split in 2019, Beer tweeted: “Oof I really owe myself the biggest apology for putting up with shit I never deserved.”
Fast forward to 2022 and Bia managed to entrap none other than Sour singer Olivia Rodrigo in his little EDM web. The pair allegedly met around May and, as reported by an “exclusive” E! News source, “Zack [feels] that Olivia is really down to earth and he loves how low-key she is. It’s a good balance between them.”
As is stereotypical with any young celebrity couple, we were served more photos of Bia and Rodrigo frollicking around New York City and altogether looking like any quintessential blooming romance. Jump forward another year, however, and we now know that the pair’s tryst was far more toxic than we could’ve ever imagined (although considering how rocky Beer and Bia were it’s not exactly that surprising).
Rodrigo released her new single ‘Vampire’ on 30 June 2023, and almost immediately, fans began speculating about who exactly might be the target of this pretty brutal and iconic diss. Now, while Rodrigo herself hasn’t confirmed anything, it didn’t take long for sleuths to decipher the meaning behind the lyrics—of course, Genius’ lyrics breakdown also helped quite a bit.
In the song, the singer kicks off by referencing the “parties” and the “diamonds” which most likely point to Bia’s extensive obsession with nightlife living. She goes on to say: “I should’ve known it was strange, you only come out at night. I used to think I was smart, but you made me look so naive. The way you sold me for parts, as you sunk your teeth into me.” Now, these lyrics allude to a number of different Bia behind the scenes (BTS). For one, he only comes out at night… DJ, duh.
Secondly, he made the then 19-year-old singer look so naive: the pair had quite a significant six-year age gap while dating and it was no secret that fans and netizens alike considered Rodrigo quite naive to get involved with the 25-year-old.
Next up, we have the iconic line: “And every girl I ever talked to told me you were bad, bad news. You called them crazy, God, I hate the way I called ‘em crazy too.” We can only assume this line is referencing the fact that Bia vilified Beer to Rodrigo, thereby turning the two women against one another. If that’s not a red flag in someone you’re dating, I don’t know what is.
Interestingly enough, Beer released her own Bia diss track back in 2021 titled ‘Selfish’. When fans began to realise that ‘Selfish’ and ‘Vampire’ were intrinsically connected, they began streaming Beer’s song in great volumes, leading the singer to share a tweet that was since deleted and read: “Thank you, miss Olivia.” The girlies got each other’s backs and we love to see it.
So, if you ever find yourself in an LA nightclub and consider pulling yourself a DJ, perhaps stop, circle back to your friends, and think twice before making any dire decisions.
