On Friday 13 October 2023, Puerto Rican rapper and singer Bad Bunny, real name Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, released his latest album, nadie sabe lo que va a pasar mañana, which translates to “nobody knows what is going to happen tomorrow.” Just hours after it dropped, Spotify announced that the set became its most-streamed album in a single day in 2023 so far.

While Bad Bunny’s global popularity and fame is the main factor behind setting yet another mind-blowing record, the rapper also has a group of journalism students at the University of Puerto Rico (UPR) at Río Piedras to thank.

In a clever promotional move, Bad Bunny’s PR team had the young students create a special newspaper issue that featured him on the cover. The print issue featured news on the Puerto Rican musician’s new album.

On the cover of UPR’s student newspaper, Bad Bunny posed in a photo wearing a mask on his face with the words “Ya Salió” printed in bold red, which translates to “it’s already out.”

“An unexpected call, less than a week ago, gave way to an unforgettable experience for my students and I,” David Cordero Mercado, a professor at UPR’s communications school, wrote on Facebook.

Mercado went on to add that the students worked on the publication “in record time,” and had “multiple meetings, calls and messages to achieve a memorable edition.” Mercado and his students also attended a listening party at the Coliseum of Puerto Rico, along with 18,000 other guests.

His incredible musical success put aside, Bad Bunny has also been making headlines for his relationship with none other than reality TV star and model Kendall Jenner, which angered many fans. Regardless of this, the two have been going strong ever since they made things official.
