Following the release of her own memoir, Worthy, Jada Pinkett Smith has taken a moment to acknowledge and celebrate Britney Spears’ highly anticipated tell-all memoir The Woman In Me.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Pinkett Smith extended her congratulations to Spears for the successful debut of her book. The actress and author also shared a throwback video from 2004, reminiscing back to the time when her band, Wicked Wisdom—which was formed by Pinkett Smith in 2002—opened for Spears during the European leg of her Onyx Hotel Tour.

Pinkett Smith warmly welcomed Spears into the “Bad Ass Women Memoir Club,” expressing her appreciation for the warm reception she received when opening for Spears during the tour. The actress, who recently revealed that she had been separated from husband Will Smith for seven years, recalled Spears’ sweetness and support during that time and marvelled at the unexpected twist that now finds them both sharing their life journeys on the pages of their respective memoirs.

Pinkett Smith wrote: “She was so sweet and supportive. Who knew we would be back on a different stage, sharing our journeys on the page.” Pinkett Smith also expressed her eagerness to read Britney’s book and sent her warm wishes on its publication day, offering her heartfelt congratulations.

When Pinkett Smith unveiled her own memoir Worthy, she fearlessly delved into her Hollywood journey and her personal life. And unless you have been living under a rock, you’re likely aware of her recent revelation that she and her husband, actor Will Smith, have been separated since 2016, despite maintaining the appearance of a married couple.

The book of course covered a lot of the actress’ relationship with husband Will, but also contained revelations about her friendship with the late rapper Tupac Shakur and an uncomfortable encounter with comedian Chris Rock, whom her husband famously slapped at the 2022 Academy Awards.

As for Spears’ The Woman In Me, the book is filled with revelations about her past relationship with ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake, a sudden forced abortion by the age of 19, and her experiences with the now-dissolved court-appointed conservatorship that placed her father in control of her financial and personal affairs. It’s a serious must-read that’s for sure.
