The Golden Globes camera crew might work hard, but TMZ definitely works harder. On Tuesday 9 January—only one day after TikTok lost its mind trying to decipher whether or not there was serious beef between Kylie Jenner and Selena Gomez—a TMZ reporter tracked down Timothée Chalamet and hounded him with questions about the supposed drama.

Chalamet, whose relationship with Jenner has been very quiet and under wraps until fairly recently, looked visibly uncomfortable as the reporter chased him and his sister down the street. Watch the video here:

Clearly trying to get to the bottom of the alleged beef, the reporter can be heard asking the actor time and time again if there’s any truth to the online rumours that Jenner refused to allow Gomez to take a photo with him and actively dislikes her.

While it’s obvious that Chalamet is actively trying to get away from the TMZ employee and doesn’t want to engage with the rumour mill, the reporter is definitely not willing to give up and pushes him to clarify whether or not the feud is real.

When asked if the actor and Gomez are “cool,” Chalamet quickly responds with “of course,” and later goes on to say that any kind of argument or beef is completely false and fabricated.

Some netizens have complained about the TMZ interview, insisting that this will only push Jenner and Chalamet to stay quiet about their relationship and keep out of the limelight—something that would naturally devastate those of us who are fully invested in the couple’s romance.

Whether or not the drama is real, things have potentially gotten to Gomez as the singer announced that she would be taking a break from social media to focus on “what really matters.” The post was shared alongside a video of her new boyfriend Benny Blanco. This isn’t the first time the actor has taken a step away from social media, and it’s unlikely that it will be the last.
