In a heartbreaking announcement on Instagram, it’s been confirmed that Mila De Jesus, a Brazilian weight loss influencer and makeup artist, has passed away at the age of 35. Her daughter Anna Clara confirmed the news in a poignant post on her mother’s account on Monday 15 January 2024.

De Jesus gained prominence by openly sharing her transformative health journey, documenting her experiences after undergoing bariatric surgery—a medical term for surgical procedures used to manage obesity and obesity-related conditions—in 2017. Her story resonated with a growing social media following, leading De Jesus to become an inspiration for many facing similar struggles, and allowing her to reach over 63,000 followers on Instagram and 103,000 subscribers on YouTube.

In the Instagram post shared on Monday, Anna Clara conveyed the family’s deep sorrow, saying: “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mila De Jesus this Friday. In this moment of pain, respect her family and friends and we will express our respect to Mila who we will miss a lot.” The post’s caption further expressed gratitude for the outpouring of prayers and condolences, asking for continued support during this difficult time.

De Jesus’ husband, George Kowszik, whom she married in September 2023, and her four children are left grappling with the sudden loss. The post drew an overwhelming response from fans, expressing shock and sorrow, and offering condolences to the grieving family.
