A man has been arrested for allegedly killing his father and then displaying his decapitated head in a gruesome YouTube video. The man went on to spout outrageous right-wing conspiracy theories in the video which was ultimately taken down for violating the platform’s “strict policies prohibiting graphic violence and violent extremism.”

According to NBC News, the man in question, Justin Mohn, 32, who allegedly killed his father, Michael Mohn, was taken into custody about 100 miles away from the crime scene on suspicion of first-degree murder, abuse of a corpse and possessing an instrument of crime with intent.

In the 14-minute-long YouTube video, which was titled Mohn’s Militia—Call To Arms For American Patriots, the 32-year-old can be seen wearing gloves and holding his father’s head in a plastic bag. Later on in the harrowing video, the head ends up in a cooking pot.

Mohn repeatedly referred to his father, who was a federal employee for over 20 years, as a “traitor” in the video. Mohn also attacked the Joe Biden administration, the Black Lives Matter movement, the LGBTQIA+ community, and Antifa activists.

Mohn also allegedly declared himself President of the United States under martial law. Court records show that Mohn has previously filed three lawsuits against federal agencies, including the US government. In all of the lawsuits, Mohn represented himself. In one case in 2020, Mohn sued his former employer, Progressive Insurance for alleged wrongful termination and sex discrimination against men. In all three cases, Mohn was unable to present a successful case.

Mohn’s mother, Denice, found his father’s body and then called the police around 7 pm on Tuesday 30 January 2024. Denice told police that she’d last been home at 2 pm and that her son was the only person there with his father. Later that evening, when she returned home, she discovered that her son was missing along with a car registered to her husband that had been in the driveway.

Police apprehended Mohn 100 miles away from the crime scene near a National Guard Base, he was also armed at the time.
