Chidera Eggerue

Chidera Eggerue, popularly known as The Slumflower is an author and advocate who rose to popularity from her viral movement #SAGGYBOOBSMATTER in 2018. Since then, Chidera has not only become a Number 1 Sunday Times Bestselling author with her first book ‘WHAT A TIME TO BE ALONE’—after its 2018 publication, she’s also brought an important conversation about women’s bodies and autonomy to the forefront through her 2020 Channel 4 documentary ‘Bring Back the Bush’. In 2021, Chidera starred in BBC2 Documentary ‘Womanhood’ where six famous women tackled some of the most hotly contested feminist issues. In 2022, she spoke at Cambridge University in support of sex work being compatible with feminism. 2023 has seen the release of her much-awaited podcast ‘THE SLUMFLOWER HOUR’, where Chidera has created a ‘domain for disobedient women who date men’. Chidera remains adamant on using her presence and platform to encourage an image of Black women that doesn’t involve playing by the rules, but instead, doing it your way.
