On Wednesday 6 September 2023, Kourtney Kardashian, 44, was rushed to the hospital after having some complications during the final trimester of her pregnancy. This ultimately led to her husband, Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, making an unplanned exit from his band’s European tour. A few days later, the eldest Kardashian sibling shared a poignant black-and-white photograph on her Instagram explaining what had happened.

In a courageous move, Kardashian revealed that she required urgent foetal surgery to save her unborn baby’s life. The surgery was a life-changing decision that brought both risk and hope, ultimately resulting in their precious child’s safety being upheld.

In the picture, she and her 47-year-old husband are seen holding hands on a hospital bed. Alongside the image, she penned a heartfelt message, revealing: “As someone who has had three really easy pregnancies in the past, I wasn’t prepared for the fear of rushing into urgent fetal surgery.”

As Kardashian embarked on this incredible journey to motherhood once more, Barker stood by her side. It was only last week that Blink-182 announced they were forced to cancel several tour dates before kicking off in Glasgow. They cited an “urgent family matter” that forced the Barker, their drummer, to return to the US. As Barker departed, he shared photos from Glasgow airport’s prayer room.

In her Instagram post, Kardashian thanked her husband for being there for her. “I am eternally grateful to my husband who rushed to my side from tour to be with me in the hospital and take care of me afterwards, my rock,” she wrote, going on to thank her mother, Kris Jenner, too: “And to my mom, thank you for holding my hand through this.”

On Wednesday, Barker also took to his own social media to convey his joy and gratitude, stating: “God is great. I flew home for a life-threatening emergency surgery for our baby that I’m so grateful went well. I want to say thank you for all the support.”

Fellow celebrities, friends, and fans also reacted to Kardashian’s foetal surgery by sending a wave of support and well-wishes, while expressing their heartfelt joy and sending their warm wishes to both the happy couple.
