Mr Delusional is at it again, folks. Florida Governor and current US Presidential candidate Ron DeSantis has recently come under fire for one of his dumbest moments of all time. While this isn’t the first (and definitely won’t be the last) time DeSantis has spouted utter nonsense, this is definitely one of his most bizarre rants.

During a recent speech along his campaign trail, DeSantis began to attack Pennsylvania senator John Fetterman for wearing “sweatshirts and hoodies and shorts.” According to the Florida Governor, it’s completely unacceptable for Fetterman to grace the US Senate in such attire.

Fetterman is a Democrat who succeeded in securing his Senate seat in 2023—beating controversial commentator and Republican Mehmet Oz, aka, Dr. Oz. The senator is a progressive and populist politician whose key policy priorities have included universal healthcare, legalising cannabis, and reforming the criminal justice system.

DeSantis went as far as to call Fetterman’s attire “disrespectful,” seemingly insinuating that unless you’re wearing a proper suit and tie, you’re unable to legislate and participate in democratic proceedings. Coming from the guy who’s persistently launched attacks against LGBTQIA+ communities, minority communities, and those who’re seeking bodily autonomy, DeSantis can’t really talk about what’s ‘proper’.

Some of the comments underneath the viral TikTok of DeSantis’ statements include: “I’d rather have Fetterman in shorts than Ron DeSantis in a $500,000 suit” and “Imagine being from Florida and being angry about shorts.”
