In the ever-changing realm of royal gossip, a new, cheeky tale has emerged, one that I don’t think any of us ever saw coming. From beyond the walls of Buckingham Palace, we’re currently being faced with the legitimate possibility that Princess Kate Middleton has undergone, wait for it, a Brazilian Butt Lift, or as they’re more commonly known, a BBL.

Move over Kim Kardashian, it seems the royal family might be secretly tapping into the trendier side of cosmetic procedures. Brace yourselves as we delve into the wild conspiracy theories swirling around Middleton’s recent abdominal surgery.

In case you missed it, on 17 January 2024, Kensington Palace released a statement revealing that Middleton had been admitted to the hospital for planned abdominal surgery, sparking waves of speculation across the kingdom. The undisclosed reason behind the procedure further fueled the internet’s penchant for conspiracy theories. Moreover, as time went on and the Princess was nowhere to be seen, netizens became convinced that there was more to the story.

All of a sudden, the disappearance of Kate Middleton evolved into a bigger mystery than the Loch Ness monster and solving it became this generation’s, Moby Dick. #WhereisKate

There are only a few moments in history that managed to tie whole generations to their screens, such as the moon landing, or when the Berlin Wall fell. Now conspiracy theories about a missing, potentially runaway, princess are one of them.

Then, on Tuesday 27 February, Prince William skipped King Constantine’s funeral, citing a “personal matter,” in turn fueling speculations about his wife’s health. And just like that, netizens started to unleash a series of theories. X, formerly Twitter, erupted with cheeky memes and playful banter about Middleton’s alleged recovery from BBL surgery. A lot of the commentary naturally revolved around the Princess’ new sculpted posterior that could give Kardashian a run for her money.

In fact, the rumour gained so much traction that Kensington Palace had to issue a statement: “Princess of Wales, who is recovering from abdominal surgery, continues to be doing well.”

Amid the laughter and playful conjectures, it’s important to consider the real reason behind Middleton’s wish for privacy. The Palace revealed that the Princess hopes to maintain as much normality for her children as possible and desires to keep her personal medical information under wraps.

But, as we dive into the world of imagination, could there be a hidden message behind the laughter, suggesting that the royal family is indeed keeping pace with the ever-evolving trends?
