Keen-eyed netizens have noticed that Kris Jenner might not be too set on the idea of Alabama Barker being a permanent part of the Kardashian family. There have been rumours for some time now that certain members of the Kardashian/Jenner clan aren’t too fond of Barker. But now, it seems as though reality TV fans are convinced that the momager has officially decided that the 18-year-old doesn’t fit the “family brand.”

Barker, who recently had to defend herself against claims that she had undergone plastic surgery, is the daughter of blink-192 drummer Travis Barker and therefore became an extended part of the Kardashian family when Travis married the eldest daughter, Kourtney.
So, why does Kris think that Alabama might stain the Kardashian/Jenner legacy? Well, one of the main reasons people think Jenner might be wary of Barker is due to some of the controversies the teen has found herself in, notably being accused of cultural appropriation and blackfishing.
In June 2023, Barker received criticism after she posted a TikTok video of herself in a bikini and knit poncho featuring Rastafarian colours. A lot of users commented under the video, sharing their upset. One netizen wrote: “It’s giving Adele,” seemingly referencing the time when the singer posted a photo of herself in a Jamaica flag bikini and Bantu knots at Notting Hill Carnival in 2020.
Moreover, when someone in the comments of Barker’s video insisted she take off the Jamaican dress, the influencer swiftly responded “make me.”
Barker is frequently under fire for the way she carries herself on social media—particularly regarding the way she dresses. In one Reddit post, a user noted: “But she’s the classic example of shitty famous parents who don’t care what their child does because it keeps them famous too. Just like the Jenner family didn’t care about Tyga messing around with teenage Kylie, Travis Barker doesn’t care what his daughter posts because any publicity is good publicity for them. Sick.” Another wrote: “I wish she acted her age.”
