Bella Hadid is officially single. A source for Entertainment Tonight confirmed on Thursday 20 July 2023 that the supermodel and mysterious art director Marc Kalman had broken up in the spring after two years of dating. But that’s not even the wildest news concerning the 26-year-old’s life that we’ve been served this week. Hadid, who in March celebrated five months sober from alcohol, has allegedly entered a rehab facility, a source has told In Touch.

Here’s everything you need to know about the model’s recent split and whether or not it was the cause that’s led to this apparent stint in rehab.

Is Bella Hadid in rehab?

“She hasn’t told many people, and details are scarce,” said the anonymous source. This revelation comes only one day after the model’s split was made public by another secret insider (let’s call them source number two) who went on to add that Hadid “is taking some much deserved time off to treat her Lyme disease.” You can understand why we’re slightly unsure who to believe here.

“She is not in rehab and has never had an alcohol or drug problem,” source number two continued. “Her split from Marc was amicable and she is always someone who takes care of herself and has been very open about it.”

Though it might be hard to find out exactly who’s telling the truth, it’s obvious to see why such rumours started in the first place. Hadid conspicuously missed Paris Fashion Week, even though her sister, Gigi, and close friend Kendall Jenner were there.

In the past, the supermodel has been open with her fans and the public about her struggles, admitting when she launched her non-alcoholic beverage brand Kin Euphorics: “I have done my fair share of drinking. I loved alcohol, [but] it got to the point where I cancelled nights out [because] I felt I wouldn’t be able to control myself. I knew this wasn’t a sustainable life for me.”

According to source number one, however, Hadid has said seeking treatment over the years has saved her life. “She often becomes overwhelmed by her fame and the nature of the business, and rehab is very grounding.”

Who is Bella Hadid’s ex-boyfriend Marc Kalman?

Kalman is Hadid’s first relationship since her on-and-off- and very messy love affair with The Weeknd, which officially ended in 2019. Though Kalman always remained low-profile on social media, with nothing more than a private account on Instagram, he still managed to garner an impressive following on the platform, including iconic figures such as late fashion designer Virgil Abloh, musician Diplo, and model Fai Khadra.

In addition to boasting titles such as “fashion assistant” to The New York Times and T Magazine, Kalman is apparently well acquainted with the celebrity-fashion sphere, having designed Made Fashion Week’s logo art and an album cover for Travis Scott, among other high-profile gigs.

The supermodel confirmed she and Kalman were in a relationship in 2021 via multiple social media posts. While spending time in France for work, Hadid had posted a photo dump which included a final slide of her looking intimate with Kalman. She captioned the since-deleted post, “Time of my life … Healthy, Working and Loved.”

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight about the split, source number two revealed: “They were very in love, but the relationship ultimately ran its course and they decided to end things. Bella is a very nice person, but struggles with the pressures of fame.”
