Legend says that if the shoe fits… you sleep inside of it. Known for cooking up Billboard chart anthems with his iconic catchphrase “another one,” American record producer and rapper DJ Khaled is now offering two lucky fans a chance to walk in and sleep beside his shoes—quite literally.

Apart from music, Khaled is a self-proclaimed “sneakerhead from birth” who has been recognised as one of the most prominent collectors in the game. Now, the hip-hop mogul is inviting fans to cop an exclusive stay inside a recreation of his legendary sneaker closet, bookable on Airbnb.

“Sneakers are an essential part of hip-hop culture and collecting them is an art—just like creating music,” Khaled said in a statement. ”We bring the same passion and energy to the shoe game as we do the studio. That’s why we’re excited to share our sneaker kingdom with fans and give them a chance to walk in our shoes, literally.”

What will DJ Khaled’s partnership with Airbnb offer?

Located in Miami with one bedroom, one bed, and one private bath, the Airbnb experience offered by Khaled includes two one-night stays, occurring on 5 and 6 December 2022, for two guests—each at only $11 per night, a nod to the rapper’s own shoe size. Who would’ve thought, huh?

Here, guests will have an opportunity to “live and breathe Miami” the same way Khaled does, and get their hands on:

How to book the stay

Those who are interested to embark on the “ultimate sneakerhead experience” can request to book the staycation starting Tuesday November 29 at 1 pm Eastern Time (ET) by heading over to Airbnb’s website dedicated to the rapper’s humble abode.

It should be noted that guests are responsible for their own travel to and from Miami. Those hoping to stay in the sneakerhead fantasy will also be required to follow Airbnb’s COVID-19 safety practices, which will include wearing a mask and practising social distancing when stipulated by local laws or guidelines.

“Airbnb is closely monitoring Miami COVID-19 infection rates and government policies and will offer booking guests a refund of the booking fee ($11) and $1,000 Airbnb travel credit if Airbnb determines it is necessary to cancel the stay,” the vacation rental company went on to mention.

The internet reacts

Back in 2018, Khaled went viral online after one of his questionable 2015 interviews resurfaced across social media platforms. In the clip, the rapper was heard claiming that he doesn’t perform oral sex on his wife because there are “different rules for men.”

“A woman should praise the man—the king,” he said. “If you holding it down for your woman, I feel like the woman should praise [you]. And a man should praise the queen. But you know, my way of praising is called, ha ha, ‘How was dinner?’, ‘You like the house you living in? You like all them clothes you getting?” Yikes.

He then went on to add that he’d never go down on the female species. “I don’t do that,” he bellowed before problematically claiming that it wouldn’t be okay for a woman to refuse oral sex on a man. “It’s different rules for men,” he explained. “You gotta understand, we the king. There’s some things that y’all might not wanna do, but it got to get done. I just can’t do what you want me to do. I just can’t.”

Come 2021, Khaled took Instagram by storm after announcing the launch of his joint OnlyFans page with fellow rapper Fat Joe, gently urging his fans to subscribe and tune in for exclusive access to their content. Along with this subtle reminder, more specifically “IF I WERE YOU PUT YOUR MONEY ON ME,” the rapper stated that the account solely exists to “motivate, inspire, and spread positive vibes.” Right.

As of today, it’s safe to say that the 46-year-old is not as popular among netizens—at least on Reddit, that is.

“I’d rather sleep at Foot Locker,” a user stated. “Oh yeah, I totally want to sleep in a room with stinky smelly shoes,” a second chimed in, while a third claimed that it’s best to bring “pest spray and a gun” in case you’re planning on dining at the rapper’s restaurant.
