On Monday 18 December 2023, actor Jonathan Majors was found guilty of assaulting his then-girlfriend following a three-day deliberation trial. It was decided that Majors, who is best known for his role as supervillain Kang in the Marvel franchise and his participation in Michael B. Jordan’s production Creed III, attacked his former partner British choreographer Grace Jabbari during an altercation in March of this year.

The 34-year-old faces up to a year in prison for leaving Jabbari with a fractured finger, bruising, a cut behind the ear, and in “excruciating pain,” as reported by BBC.

Since the guilty verdict was announced, a spokesperson for Marvel said the studio will not be moving forward with Majors on future projects. Previously, the actor starred in both seasons one and two of Tom Hiddleston’s Loki and Ant-man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Before the verdict, Majors was also due to appear in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret War.

The court’s final decision was that Majors would be ultimately convicted of third-degree assault and second-degree harassment. While a lot of publications have been focusing on the fate of Majors following the guilty verdict, we wanted to highlight the women who are involved in this case—Majors’ ex-girlfriend and current girlfriend.

Who is Grace Jabbari?

Grace Jabbari is a British dancer and movement coach who has appeared in multiple films as a dancer. Jabbari first met Majors while on set filming Ant-man and the Wasp: Quantumania in London in 2021. The two remained together until March 2023 when the domestic assault occurred.

According to multiple reports, the two got into an intense altercation while riding in an SUV on their way to Majors’ apartment in Chelsea. In court, the 30-year-old dancer testified that things began to turn physical when she noticed texts from other women on Majors’ phone.

When Jabbari grabbed the device from his hands, Majors twisted her arm in a position that caused her “excruciating pain” and then struck her in the head, Jabbari told jurors. Jabbari also accused Majors of squeezing her middle finger until it fractured.

As reported by The Guardian, Majors then took his phone back, got out of the vehicle and took off running through the streets of lower Manhattan as Jabbari chased behind him, street surveillance footage presented during the trial showed.

In a statement released on 18 December, Alvin Bragg, Manhattan’s district attorney, said that the evidence presented against Majors showed a “cycle of psychological and emotional abuse, and escalating patterns of coercion.”

Majors’ attorney Priya Chaudhry has contested that the jury did not actually believe Jabbari’s story despite finding the actor guilty on the two counts. Chaudhry has stated that Majors will continue to fight to clear his name.

Who is Meagan Good?

Majors’ current girlfriend is model and actress Meagan Good. The 42-year-old is best known for her roles in the TV series Harlem, and the films Shazam! Fury of the Gods, and Think Like a Man.

Majors and Good have been dating since May 2023, with People reporting that sources have stated that Good has been a big source of support for the actor amid the assault allegations.

During the three-day trial, multiple pictures emerged of the couple holding hands entering the courtroom, clearly showcasing Good’s perpetual backing of Majors. When the guilty verdict was announced, Good was seen wiping tears from her eyes.
