The last thing you’d expect during your nail appointment is for someone to burst through the door, hand hidden in a bag, demanding money for you, but oddly enough that’s exactly what happened to these surprisingly calm and composed salon-goers in Atlanta, US.

The viral video, which is from 3 July 2023, was recently released by the Atlanta Police Department in a bid to help find the wannabe robber, but has instead attracted the attention of over 25 million internet dwellers, unable to tear their eyes away from the painfully awkward attempted robbery. Honestly, it’s a must-watch:

First of all, how do they manage to keep so calm? I can’t get over how little fucks the salon customers give about the guy threatening them with what might be a gun hidden in a bag.

I love the way the clerk behind the counter answers the phone mid-robbery, completely ignoring the criminal who, by this point, is seriously confused himself. It’s like he’s thinking to himself: “Hang on, why isn’t this working?”

Maybe the nail salon wasn’t the best spot for this guy’s big robbery plans—it’s not exactly a space known for its affluence. It’s like trying to rob a cafe or a corner shop. I think he’d have better luck somewhere a bit more coddled.

These Atlanta residents have clearly seen it all, and this guy causing a scene isn’t going to get anyone worked up anytime soon. As one commenter aptly put it: “This is the most gen Z robbery I’ve ever seen. We’re all so done.”  I’ve never heard truer words.

Of course, this isn’t the only time a robbery has failed miserably. Remember this awkward attempt at a snatch-and-run from May?

I know that walk back felt awkward asf 🤣 #store #rob #failed #awkward #fyp #foryou

The walk of shame once the guy realises the door is electronically locked is too funny. The guy behind the counter had me in tears when he hit the burglar with a “Have a nice day,” once he’d returned the phone he just tried to swipe.

Petty theft in this economy? Come on, you’ve got to try harder than that.
