“Nothing beats a Jet2 holiday” plays on a loop in my head as I board the plane. It’s taken over my brain, it’s taken over TikTok, and now the artist behind the viral sound is having her moment in the sun.

Zoë Lister, the star behind the voiceover, is an actor who appeared in Hollyoaks between 2006 and 2010, and who has been doing the Jet2holidays adverts for quite some years now.

The latest ad was first shown on TV back in 2022, but went viral on TikTok in late 2024. And if you somehow haven’t heard it, it sees Lister perform the Jet2holidays tagline over ‘Hold My Hand’ by singer Jess Glynne. She chimes: “Nothing beats a Jet2 holiday. And right now, you can save £50 per person. That’s £200 off for a family of four.”

And now, Lister is being booked for gig appearances, she’s doing morning television interviews, and is finding viral TikTok fame herself.

Nothing beats a Jet2 holiday

In one video, she says: “Chances are, if you have a social media account and you live in 2025 on planet earth, you’ve heard my voice but you do not know my face… It is set to a permanent state of stupid joy, slight anxiety, and overwhelm, and just ‘what’s going on?’”

She goes on to talk about how people are sliding into her DMs from all over the world due to hearing the advert, and jokes that students are even using the sound for their GCSE drama pieces.

Lister even went on morning television, telling Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary on This Morning how she has been doing the voiceover clips for Jet2 for around seven years, but this one has been a “slow burn.”

Hammond asked her, “Did you ever think that a simple voiceover would have taken over your whole life?” To which Lister replied: “No, I’ve imagined many things in my life, but I didn’t think this voiceover would be the thing, ever.”

Where did the Jet2holidays trend come from?

While Lister says this specific ad was recorded around 18 months ago, it continues to pick up pace. The sound has been used 1.8 million times on TikTok, where it started to gain traction as users added the sound over the top of holiday mishaps.

The sound is the backing track to clips of airport delays, kids screaming on a plane, and even clips of people “almost drowning” on a water slide at Tenerife’s Siam Park.

Jet2holidays voiceover artist is now doing public appearances

Now, Lister is taking the sound out of the voiceover booth and into reality. She performed a live rendition of the voiceover at Newmarket Racecourse with radio personality Chris Stark—and everyone loved it. One user commented on Capital’s Instagram post that “this diva was PREPARED!!” with another confirming that “this was a memorable gig, for sure.”

Posting her own clip of the performance, Lister wrote: “A LIVE performance of NOTHING BEATS A JET2 HOLIDAY!! Stupid joy.” To which fans replied: “We—Brits—are truly a ridiculous people and I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

Ridiculous it may be, but the voiceover and ‘Hold My Hand’ have somehow become the sound of the summer

When Jess Glynne and the Jet2 voiceover artist met IRL

The two worlds even collided recently. A long time coming, it seems the first meeting of Lister and Jess Glynne happened on a Capital radio show. The show’s presenters could barely contain their excitement at the two Jet2holidays stars meeting. Jess Glynne even tried doing the voiceover herself.

Glynne is really leaning into being the sound of Jet2holidays. She’s even encouraged fans to fill in Lister’s words when performing live. Glynne came out to surprise crowds watching the Lionesses in the Women’s Euro 2025 semi-final in London, and while performing ‘Hold My Hand’, she calls out, “What is it?” To which you hear the crowd screaming, “Nothing beats a Jet2 holiday.”

@Jess Glynne coming to sing at half time was not on the cards (I guess nothing really does beat a jet 2 holiday) #jet2holidays #holdmyhand #jessglynne #womenseuros #boxpark

While Glynne’s track has been used in the ad for years, it’s Lister who is riding the fame from this Jet2holidays wave. And it seems fans are more than happy to come along for the ride. Set your ticket alert now for her next festival performance.
